Long nights, low light days.
Fires in the stove, the sound of the rain on the roof, cozy lights and quiet evenings that come with the winter.
Cold, wet air that cuts to the bone. Our land becomes a sponge of mud and moss and a skin of water.
On along about February, I get the itch. The itch to shed the grey skies and water suit. February gets me bad in this way. Bad.
Not much cures my ailes like a road trip into sunshine and it’s that much better if I know that friends – new and remembered – will be there too.
I have that to look forward to at the end of this coming February and I’m near rumbling with anticipation. I get to go be with people I love, meet new ones to fall in love with, share what I love doing, and watch that same love expand through shared creative exploration.
The many faces of love shine big and bright in a space dedicated to sacred creative exploration. This is the very last An Artful Journey retreat and I’m so deeply honored and grateful to be a part of it. Cindy is an organizer extraordinaire and the high caliber of students this retreat attracts is match only by amazing open hearts and generous spirits they are as human beings.
If you’ve never been to one of the An Artful Journey retreats, I invite you to jump in while you can. Join me in the northern California mountains, breathe in the promising sun and the sweet redwood perfume. Dive into a perfect balance of intensive creative exploration and release of any need to perform. Shed any low-light funk that might be trying to sink its claws into you and come play. This retreat is all about honoring the part of you that needs time to percolate on ideas knowing that there is no lack of material and instruction to choose from. This retreat is all about meeting each other to share and share generously.
The instructors that will be there bring their A game, full on, and so do the students. You’ll be among amazingly generous company and it’s all one big happy fest.
With killer cookies in the mix.
