I'm so pleased to present another round of my most comprehensive, non-traditional metal-smithing class to date! The first four-week round was a huge success and I'm so excited to be sharing en entire weeks worth of new information this go 'round. It comes at the perfect time of year, too...just in time for Holiday gift giving. Imagine being able to generously give your own handcrafted beautiful works of metal art and jewelry to all your amazed friends! Heck, you could even give the class itself as an early present! It is not necessary for you to have participated in Session One for you to participate in Session Two.
I love the idea of Homesteading. Of making a beloved home out of materials that are readily available. Of taking simple, multipurpose tools and creating works of art with incredible function without the use of the latest and greatest trendy supply. In this e-course, I will guide you, in the same manner that a homesteader employs to create a garden of eden, in learning the techniques that will allow you to forge up your own jewelry, book covers, boxes, assemblages and so much more. Each and every technique I will share can be adapted to SO many different art forms - not even the sky will be the limit for you! If you've already enjoyed taking a one-day metal-smithing class from me, you will LOVE the in depth exploration and tutoring as well as many more techniques that just can't fit into a one day class. If you have never done any metal-smithing of any kind before, rest assured that this is a work-at-your-own pace workshop with plenty of guidance and details to help you master the craft.
Duration
Five weeks, starting Monday, November 8th and ending Friday, December 13th.
~much much much more!
After you register, you will receive an email within 48 hours to confirm your spot in the class. PLEASE check the email address that Paypal has on file for you as this is the address where the confirmation email will be sent. If you do not receive this confirmation, please email me.
Once you have registered, you will receive the class site access information where you will find full supplies and materials list along with sources and specific information on tools and studio set up requirements (minimal, really. Honest-to-pete). All supplies and materials are inexpensive and super accessible and likely many of them you already have in your studio or garage.
Now I know as well as anyone that life moves at break neck speed. It's just not possible for you to be available every day of the class as it is happening and so for that reason, the class and ALL CONTENT (including videos, PDF's, tutorials, yahoo group...everything) will be available to you for a full three months after class has ended. That's a heckuva lot of time to get a good grip on everything offered in the course!
Here's a little taste of what the students of the Homesteader's maiden voyage said:
"I was very apprehensive about an online course, but it has far exceeded my expectations. You have a great teaching style--the videos were amazing and packed full of information. I loved learning all the techniques but I have to say my favorite part of the course was the information you gave us when things don't always go perfectly and what to do to salvage the piece. As a result I didn't have a single piece that I started that I wasn't able to correct using the tips and tricks that you shared with us."
"This has been the best metalsmithing class ever. We are all so fortunate how willing you are to share. I have taken a lot of online workshops and I will say this one has been the best!!! Your videos truly enhance the entire process."
"The class has been perfect-I have to say that the format has been my favorite "technique." You have given us the opportunity to view and review each video any number of times and spaced them out so we can feel comfortable with one technique before moving onto the next."
"Stephanie.... you are simply wonderful.. I can't even tell you how much I am loving this workshop and the comments and works of fellow homesteaders. I love your statements on making what you learn your own as that fits with my spirit so well..."
"I love how Stephanie brought together a group of women from across the country who are all passionate about their art. The enthusiasm is just contagious."
I love being in the studio and discovering new ways of working with the medium. I have a mind that is hungry for information and understanding how and why things do what they do. Combine that with my stubborn, I-want-to-figure-this-out way, and you have the makings of a metal-smithing class that uses the most accessible materials, the simplest tools, and easy-as-pie-but-super-cool techniques that will take your art to a whole new level! So go ahead, dive in and get your hands dirty!
